Visiting Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica is one of the fundamental experiences of a trip to Rome, and it pays to come prepared! First of all, there is a simple but strict dress code: shoulders and knees must be covered. Second, this vast museum is among the world’s largest; the tour lasts 4 hours and extends over 7 kilometer, so comfortable shoes are definitely recommended. Finally, you can opt for ordinary tickets, or VIP tickets which can only be purchased in advance, at a slightly higher cost.
Tour: Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and San Peter’s Basilica
You haven’t seen Rome if you haven’t experienced Michelangelo’s famous Sistine Chapel. I’ll guide you through the Vatican Museum with it’s infinite treasures, and together we’ll see some of the greatest masterpieces of all time, including ancient, pagan statuary, without feeling overwhelmed by their vast number. Then I’ll take you around St Peter’s Basilica, the largest and most beautiful church in the world.
Option Tour: VIP early Morning Entrance
If you don’t like wading through the crowds, which are inevitably present in high season, I can arrange a special visit for you on schedules reserved for a small number of visitors.
